Is it intentional? This was introduced in [651] and the commit message says "Try to ignore local settings and facts".

I'm thinking bmotion should put all its stuff in one place that can be considered the bot's own data. SVN can ignore that directory, and then settings.tcl, facts.txt, and the compiled various *.txt files for abstracts can go in there. Then they'll be safe from SVN, and also that makes bMotion easy to backup/move.

Sounds like an excellent plan. Beats the cat | sort | uniq magic I had to resort to when I changed from CVS to SVN and forgot to move abstracts and facts before starting the bot. From your failed attempt at getting SVN to ignore stuff that it's no longer as simple as throwing the equivalent of a .cvsignore somewhere?
